November 2004 - SSAB evaluates SIMUL8-Planner for Steel Casting at facilities in Luleå, Sweden.

SSAB is a leading producer of high-strength steel sheet and steel plate from Sweden. One of the group's five subsidiaries SSAB Tunnplåt has recently acquired SIMUL8-Planner, a simulation-based planning and scheduling tool, to schedule casting operations at its plant Lulea, Sweden. Through a simulation of the operations from the Blast Furnace to Casting SSAB are able to evaluate sequencing rules for its operations and improve on-time delivery.
