- An
Ohio-based rolling company
selects SIMUL8-Planner to automate sequencing problem at one
of their continuous treatment
facility.
Working closely with
the IT department Visual8 Corporation configured and integrated
a automated sequencing tool which
works in tandem
with on-line ERP and Level 2 systems. The system is designed
to meet both, sometimes conflicting needs of the facility to
increase throughput and on-time order delivery. June 2005 - Hormel
Foods evaluates introduction of SIMUL8-Planner at their smoking
facility to improve batch utilization.
May 2005 – Northrop
Grumman adopts SIMUL8-Planner for simulation-based planning
and scheduling of complex batch
processes.
Visual8 has recently
developed a planning and scheduling system for the composites
area of a major Californian aerospace parts
manufacturer. This tool synchronizes
layup of parts in their clean room with the efficient loading of autoclaves.
The system is being designed to link to the Company’s ERP system and
shop-floor information systems providing a fast and responsive scheduling
system. January 2005 – European
based aerospace parts manufacturer
adopts SIMUL8-Planner for simulation-based
planning and scheduling
of complex batch processes. The tool has been used extensively
to evaluate the introduction of lean manufacturing at the facility
and its impact upon scheduling requirements.
