SIMUL8-Planner Solution
Systems Integration
The configuration and implementation process
of the SIMUL8-Planner system is facilitated by our team of simulation
and scheduling experts here at Visual8 Corporation. Working with
your team and systems SIMUL8-Planner will be configured to capture
your operations and scheduling problem. This four step process
typically takes three to six months depending upon the complexity
of the operations, the level of integration required as well
as any additional functionality or reporting.

ON-SITE ASSESSMENT
An on-site assessment is
scheduled at the beginning of a SIMUL8-Planner implementation
to review and understand
the complexity of the scheduling problem. This is a necessary
step as every scheduling problem is slightly unique. This on-site
assessment will also include a review of current IT systems,
and an understanding of the reporting requirements for the system.
This, typically, one-week effort will review in a System Specifications
document will drive the configuration of the ISMUL8-planner implementation.
PRODUCTION MODEL
To understand the true capacity
of the plant a detailed production model will be developed of
the entire facility.
All constraints such as staging area sizing, resource shift patterns,
product routings and timings, batch constraints, travel / transfer
times, and set-up considerations will be captured in detailed
knowledge tables.
The Production Model will be validated against current production
data to ensure that the scheduling system accurately depicts
the capabilities of the plant. This ensures that the resultant
schedules are realistic at the shop-floor level.
SCHEDULING ALGORITHMS
Global and Local scheduling
algorithms will then be applied to each work stations to ensure
that the
overall scheduling objective for the facility if met. As each
plant is unique the product attributes which will be considered
in each of the scheduling algorithms may vary, however the synchronization
and flow of the product through the facility will be set to achieve
an overall facility scheduling goal.
INTEGRATION
SIMUL8-Planner offers integration
to your current systems to ensure up-to-date information on:

Sales Forecasts / Product Orders
Raw Material / WIP / Finished Goods Inventory
Product Definition / Timing / Bill of Materials
Resource / Equipment / Tool Availability
Upload:
Detailed Work Order Schedules
Summary Performance Reports
By using your existing systems, this minimizes the structural
impact of the new system, and enhances the practical benefit
of existing capital expenditure
